'Best fans in the world'

03 February 2006
Adam was in Dublin last night to do the honours as U2 won 'Best Irish Band', 'Best Irish Album' and 'Best Live Performance' at the Meteor Ireland Music Awards.

Joe Elliot and Justin Hawkins presented Adam with the Album award for 'How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb', Stephen Rea handed over the Live award - for the Croke Park Vertigo '05 shows - while Jonathan Rhys Meyers was on hand for Best Band.

U2, said a tanned and relaxed looking Adam, have the 'best management company in the world, best crew in the world and best fans in the world'. What more can you say ?

Gwen Stefani, Kanye West and the Kaiser Chiefs won international awards at the event, held at Dublin's Point Theatre. Shane McGowan (Lifetime Achievement Award for The Pogues) closed the evening in traditional style with the Dubliners performing Irish Rover.
