U2 and Green Day took a break from rehearsals to step out over the famous zebra crossing outside Abbey Road Studios in London yesterday.

The traffic was briefly stopped as Anton Corbijn directed an impromptu shoot and a growing crowd of disbelieving onlookers pulled out their mobile phones and digital cameras to capture the moment.

Our thanks to Chris Milk for his snaps of Anton taking the official shots. And thanks also to Kaisa Kantalainen, who has sent us her - admittedly slightly 'shaky' - photo, captured on her mobile.

More news from inside Abbey Road shortly.
