Zootopian 360° Screening Parties
Zootopians opened up their homes and apartments - or took over local bars - to make a night of the release of U2 360° At The Rose Bowl.
More than 20 cities hosted preview parties, large and small. As well as donning show-time t-shirts and retelling favourite tour anecdotes, most of the parties boldly attempted to create d-i-y models of the 360° production... some with more success than others.
We've just launched this gallery
of your photos - featuring the previously unrecognised modelling skill and engineering ingenuity of the Zootopian community.
'The DVD did not disappoint.' reports Jen Haskins, who hosted the party in Baltimore. 'The quality was brilliant. Being in the pit the last few shows I have attended it was great to see this production from an entirely different angle. It is hard to appreciate the glory of the claw and all its special effects when you are right up next to the stage. Many of my guests who have not had the ability to see U2 this last tour said it made them feel like they were there...'
Some folk at the party in Fort McMurray, Alberta, had tickets to see the band in Edmonton. 'Disappointed yes but in the same breath we just want Bono to get better.' writes host Blake Crossley. And the DVD?
'The imagery, editing, audio and creativity of the concert was awesome. The highlights include favorites like Unknown Caller, Sunday Bloody Sunday, I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight and Where the Streets Have No Name...'
