Streaming:Limited Editions

37
From U2.Communication in 2005 to Artificial Horizon in 2010, our limited edition CD releases to Subscribers have been collectors items one and all.

But unless you've been a subscriber throughout that period (you know who you are, we salute you), you won't have the entire set... and we thought you'd like to hear some of the music you've missed.

From live sets like ZOO2LIVE (ZOOTV Tour, Sydney, 1993) and U2 Go Home (Elevation Tour, Slane Castle, 2007) to the rare and lost cuts of Medium, Rare and Remastered and the remixed reinventions of Artificial Horizon, these five collectors-only releases span the arc of the band's career... from a slightly different vantage point.

Click here for one of the releases.

Melon
Cool to have these streaming now.... The Zoomerang tour was a definite highlight! To me, U2 really peaked in the 90'es. One request: If you were to start streaming Melon (Propaganda remixes)too, it would be awesome!

Memories
Listening to the sydney show takes me back to the Melbourne show - where I was in the 6th row... Thanks for listing these - and thanks for ZooTV, Vertigo and the 360 tour. I was luck enough to take my 9 year old nephew to 360 in Melbourne - and will never forget the look on his face when the band walked out.. and when they did Hold Me, Thrill Me (possibly his favourite song).

Magnificent
Have them all, thanks U2.com. Avid collector of singles for b sides over the years, the cds are like gold to any serious U2 fan. Hearing sometimes you can't make it done in that rawer version gave me goosebumps! Is there any chance you could release some really early stuff at some stage? Thanks and keep them coming.

Consider this
I love your work, and to paraphrase Mark Twain--the rest is wish-wash. Consider that an invite to the south. See you in Memphis!

U2 lift my days
Having listened to these great limited editions, I have truly found some favourites I will never forget. I am amazed by the power and joy of the alternate version of "All Because Of You" and "Native Son" is another highlight, because it gives me an impression how U2 put their songs together. With lyrics that are much different from "Vertigo" this raw version reveals how the band creates pieces at different stages before the release of an album. I am particularly moved by the way Bono forms such an incredibly long note when singing the line "It;s so hard for a native son to be free". The extensive live version of "Mysterious Ways" definitely belongs to my favourite tracks of all time. With Bono singing in a thrilling falsetto voice at the climax of the song, I am totally touched and mesmerized by the beauty, unbelievable intensity, energy, ferocity and deep emotion. This is wonderful music that sends shivers down my spine...I need to listen to this again and again...Thank you for this amazing present!!!

Would love to turn back the clock....
....and have a chance at owning these, however, some of us left U2 for a while and have only recently come back, so we're outta luck. I'm hoping some day you folks might be able to re-release these in digital or (preferably) CD format for sale -- maybe have the proceeds support one or more of the many U2 run or endorsed charities. If that's not the case, then thank you for at least letting us returning fans and newly admitted members an opportunity to at least listen to the music we may have missed the first time around.

Zoo oh ZooTV
Almost certain I've been a member since the beginning with no lapses; and I have all of these except Zoo... and I LOVED ZooTV when I saw it in September 1992 in St. Louis. Did I misplace the CD? Was it stolen? I guess I'll never know. Many thanks for streaming so I can revisit the happy Zoo place in my memory banks. Denise

We're speaking the same language
You have great ideas!! I'm listening to it every day and I love it. In fact the concert of the ZOOTV Tour in Sydney is one of my first memories of U2 and it's wonderful but U2 Go Home is so beautiful... And is it only my imagination or I can understand gaelic? ;)

LOVE U2 LIKE MAD
Thank you so much for giving us this very special offer!!! Having joined U2.com on June 2nd 2010, I was very happy to receive "Artificial Horizon". Listening to the record, I am impressed by the the diversity of sounds and the remixes make me rediscover songs I probably heard hundreds of times. It is exciting to experience how the mood or even harmonies of tracks can be changed. "Medium, Rare & Remastered" allows me to get to know new and great material. Singing "Smile", Bono shows his whole potential as a vocalist, letting his voice reach the highest notes. Alternate versions of well-known tracks show the development of music in an impressive way. I am amazed by the way U2;s songs always stay in movement. "U2 Go Home" captures one of the most emotional concerts of the band;s history. Having dedicated a grand version of "Kite" to Bob Hewson, Bono shared his sorrow and loss with his audience. "ZOO2LIVE" shows the most experimental period of U2;s career very well. Noisy and daring tracks like "The Fly" reveal some darkness under the glittering surface of "ZOO TV". Older songs like "Bullet..." seem to be even wilder and more radical than formerly. "U2.Communication" offers a stirring live highlight with "Miss Sarajevo" and "I Still Haven;t Found..." reminds me of my own "Vertigo" concert I attended in Vienna. I remember that the audience repeated the chorus several times after the music had stopped. Bono just stood there and listened. Then he shook his head. U2.com, I wish you a happy New Year 2011!!!

How do I get the Zoo2Live??
That is the only one I don't have in my collections. And it sounds sooo good! Artificial Horizon is special because it has the version of Crazy from the Dublin show I attended. Medium, Rare and Remastered has Wave of Sorrow which has become one of my favorite, yet lesser-known U2 songs. And U2 Go Home reminds me of Vertigo Tour all over again... Thank you for streaming all of them on the website!
peterkaveland - 07 January, 2011
super
Have them all :) Next to be relaeased could be the Zoo Tv concert in Stockholm June 1992. Concert was broadcasted to one lucky guy in the UK, Björn and Benny of ABBA attended the concert when playing Dancing Queen.
