The band will be out on the road again this summer celebrating the 30th anniversary of The Joshua Tree and performing the album in full, every night. In July the tour brings them home to Croke Park in Dublin, 30 years after the original Joshua Tree Tour’s two memorable shows at the Dublin venue in June 1987.

U2: The Joshua Tree Tour 2017 kicks off in Vancouver on 12th May for a run of dates across North America, and includes U2’s first ever U.S. festival headline appearance at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival.

The tour then moves to Europe with the first stop in London on 8th July, finishing up in Brussels on 1st August and taking in their hometown show in Croke Park on 22nd July.

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will provide support across Europe, with Mumford & Sons, The Lumineers and One Republic joining the tour through North America.

“It seems like we have come full circle from when The Joshua Tree songs were originally writtten, with global upheaval, extreme right wing politics and some fundamental human rights at risk,” reflects The Edge. “To celebrate the album - as these songs seem so relevant and prescient of these times too - we decided to do these shows, it feels right for now. We’re looking forward to it.”

“Recently I listened back to The Joshua Tree for the first time in nearly 30 years,” adds Bono. “It’s quite an opera. A lot of emotions which feel strangely current, love, loss, broken dreams, seeking oblivion, polarisation… all the greats... I’ve sung some of these songs a lot… but never all of them. I’m up for it, if our audience is as excited as we are… it’s gonna be a great night. Especially when we play at home. Croke Park.. it’s where the album was born, 30 years ago.”

Tickets for U2: The Joshua Tree Tour 2017 are on sale Monday, January 16th in Ireland, the UK and Europe and on Tuesday, January 17th in the US and Canada. Ticket prices start at €35.00 / £35.00 / $35.00 with general admission floor tickets at  €70.00 / £70.00  / $70.00.

Tickets will be general admission on the floor and reserved seating in the stands. There will be a 4 ticket limit for subscriber purchases and a 6 ticket limit commencing with public sales. Released to universal acclaim on March 9th 1987 and featuring hit singles “With Or Without You”,“I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” and “Where The Streets Have No Name”, The Joshua Tree went to No. 1 in Ireland and around the world selling in excess of 25 million copies and catapulting Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr “… from heroes to superstars” (Rolling Stone).

Time Magazine put U2 on its cover in April 1987, proclaiming them “Rock’s Hottest Ticket” in a defining year for the band that saw their arena dates roll into stadium shows to accommodate escalating demand - setting them on course to become one of the greatest live acts in the world today.

The 12 months that followed saw the band create now-iconic moments: the traffic-stopping Grammy Award-winning music video on the roof of a Los Angeles liquor store, winning a BRIT Award and two Grammys - including Album of the Year - their first of 22 received to date, distinguishing U2 as the most awarded rock band in Grammy history; as well as a triumphant return home with the original Joshua Tree Tour for four unforgettable shows in Belfast, Dublin and Cork in the summer of 1987.

In 1987 Hot Press called The Joshua Tree “their most influential album yet”. As for this tour? Noel Gallagher says, “It will be both a pleasure and an honour to play my part in what still remains the greatest show on earth.”

Missed Out
I was lucky to go and see U2 on the last tour but this time due to financial constants just can't go which I am very sad. I would love to see U2 do some secret gigs such as Rock City in Nottingham, its still a fantastic venue and I would of been too young to see them in 1981 when they performed there. So I will just have to wait until the next tour & bring my son along. Hope everyone who got tickets has a great time; U2 are great stage performers and always but on an amazing show.

So timely
As Edge says in the article above, The Joshua Tree as an album has never been more relevant than it is now. The idea of the "Two Americas" -- the shining city on the hill, and the international bully breathing just outside the front door -- are front and center in our national (and international) consciousness once again, and this will be a reminder of our promise and our peril. I was too young to appreciate the album when it first came out, but it has never stopped being relevant. U2 has done more to shape my attitude towards my own country than perhaps any other artists. Looking forward to seeing them in DC in June.

The Joshua Tree - The Masterpiece!
I'm sure it's gonna be an emotional and breathtaking tour, as always. Joshua Tree is honestly a true musical gem, but unfortunately I cannot make it to any of the shows abroad. I hope you go on tour again after the JoshuaTree2017Tour, we would love to see you in GREECE again! Much love!

Found what I'm looking for...
I found what I'm looking for... So stoked about this show... Not only is it an epic 30 year anniversary for the lads, but for me as a fan as well. 12 shows (saw some tours more than once) spanning 3 decades. From sitting next to Justine Bateman in the 3rd row at the Joshua Tree tour at the Coliseum to the time where I literally Planes, Trains and Automobiled it (bus too) all the way back from Linz, Austria 2 days early because @williamc08 and @janelcoats got me a ticket for the Zoo TV tour at Anaheim Stadium. I hadn't slept in 2 days and was shivering with a fever... and loved every minute of that show! Then there was the time 6 of us slept in a one-bed motel room in Phoenix Arizona to go to the back-to-back shows at Sun Devil Stadium when they recorded Rattle and Hum live (KROQ announced the show saying U2 decided to add this show last minute at the end of the tour as a thank you to the fans... $5 a night... both shows for $10)... we bolted over to Ticketmaster (as there was no Internet) which was located in The Warehouse (an actual brick and mortar store where they sold those shiny round discs we carried our music around on) and scored tickets. What a weekend... I almost lost it when BB King came out and played with Edge on "When Love Comes To Town". I actually did lose it when the full Gospel choir came out and sang "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" with Bono... there are few moments in time like that (By the way, sorry about your passenger side mirror on that trip Missy... ;-) Great memories the majority of which have been with @williamc08, @janelcoats and @erinnassir but many more with a cast of other great friends along the way... you all know who you are... #longlivethejoshuatree #nottheactualoneassadlyitisnolongerwithus #TheLastSongBetterBe40 #U2JoshuaTree30

Joshua tree Cleveland, Ohio 2017
When I heard Bono and crew were coming to town, I thought of their Vertigo tour in 2005, their last stop in Cleveland. I was behind the stage and remember their entrance to the show. Wow, that was 12 years ago. So I knew I had to get tickets to the Joshua Tree show. This time I was able to secure pre-sale tickets to the envy of my boss while battling for good seats, section 132a. Myself and my girlfriend from Greece (Katia) will be their in spirit come July 1. Thank you U2 for your return to Cleveland.

In God’s Country with Toronto and Vancou
Please pull together red and blue’s northern and wide neighbour (where Quebec-born and co-producer of TJT album, Daniel Lanois, came to life) by adding Quebec/Montreal to balance the tour. Many long-time fans from the eastern part of the "north side" want to see and hear the Band again. We have lots of great space. Since Bonnaroo is on then why not stop at O'Sheaga in Montreal and Quebec's Summer Festival?

When will you come to South América? Specially to Perú. It would be great!
