U2's Elevation Tour was the top tour by any act this year according to Billboard Magazine.

The 113 shows that the band played for the tour on both sides of the Atlantic proved the biggest attraction of 2001 - followed by tours by by 'N Sync and Backstreet Boys.
At No. 4, came Madonna's sold-out Drowned World tour followed by Dave Matthews Band, Billy Joel and Elton John's joint tour and Janet Jackson. Aerosmith and AC/DC also made the Top Ten Tours in the Billboard list.

It looks like we will have to do our Tonight Show residency another time - we're one man down. Bono has injured his arm in a cycling spill in Central Park and requires some surgery to repair it.
