Day off - Chicago-2
My brother e-mailed me to let me know that Enid Franklin died at the weekend. She was one of my mother's best friends and one of those non-blood relatives that you always referred to as an "auntie" as she'd known me for my entire life. I hadn't seen her in a long while, but we still always corresponded at Christmas, which was a link to the past that I always enjoyed. Consequently I've been a little sad today and spent some time thinking about times long gone by. It's strange to have to deal with these things when you're on the road, like piecing together threads of stories from different worlds.
