Day Off - London-2

Regular readers may remember my dental disaster salvaged by having a temporary filling fitted in Zurich by an Asian dentist called Peter Sellers. Today I finally got it sorted out permanently at an awesomely hi-tech dentist in Knightsbridge. The Swiss guy was pretty impressive, but this place actually photographed all my teeth in horrifying digital close up, relayed to a video screen at my elbow. It didn't make me feel much better, but gave me all sorts of ideas for new video pieces for the show.

Consequently spent the rest of the day drinking soup through a straw and feeling like the elephant man, but at least its accompanied by that smug sense of achievement at having managed to organize another of those simple domestic chores that become overwhelmingly complicated to arrange when you're on tour.

The crew loaded into Earls Court today and reports are encouraging. I'm really looking forward to this.

Within the bands entourage (certainly by comparison to the crews clockwork scheduling) travel departure times are often a little loose. This morning was especially so, due to three contradictory memos which had been emailed out last night and this morning.

There was a 6.30pm conference call arranged between Bono (Dublin), The Edge (Los Angeles), Steve Matthews (London) and myself (also London) to blow the cobwebs off our brains and discuss the reincarnation of the Vertigo Tour.

I was planning on resurrecting the tour diary today, being the day we were scheduled to fly to Auckland for the load-in tomorrow. However, its now old news that the remainder of the tour dates have been postponed, so Im not going anywhere further than the corner cafe. Its been a very weird week indeed - much akin to driving into a wall.
