Vertigo Leg 4: 2006, World

In Denver

In Denver
I slept pretty well, getting straight back to the laptop as soon as I rolled out of bed. (Sad or what?) I caught up with what had transpired whilst I was unconscious; proposed video shoot in Vancouver now cancelled; proposed video shoot in Chicago looking likely but unconfirmed; processing set-up for the outdoor video screen to be tested in Belgium in two weeks time, so Smasher and I will do a quick round trip before the Chicago shows.

Staggered out for some breakfast but felt very weird indeed. Passed Snoop Dogg in the lobby of the hotel. Really. It was a good few blocks till the first place to eat appeared (Mexican - for breakfast?) and by the time I sat down I was exhausted. I ate, then walked back to the hotel only to find I'd left my bloody phone in the restaurant. I'm just out of it today. Hiked back to get it and on the way ran into A.J. outside Barnes and Noble who was telling me that the altitude here requires novices to drink a great deal more water than they normally would. This knowledge in itself made me feel a little better as I thought I must have aged 40 years overnight and woken up in a Kafka novel.

Back in my room now and I am determined to get all the paperwork for the European lighting and video systems finished up tonight. It's just been endless. The door is locked and Nancy Wilson is burbling away on the iPod. If I can get all the plates spinning I think I'll be taking the day off tomorrow. Rumour has it that we've got some shows coming up before too long, as well.
