Weird old day. I don't think I slept very well, with a head full of thoughts about the outdoor production, or perhaps I hadn't activated my DNA sufficiently this morning. The cold, damp drizzle didn't help, along with getting called into the venue at short notice for a confetti-cannon test which ended up being postponed for hours.

The main load-in commenced and went pretty well, if unsurprisingly, a little slowly. The confetti was great though, so I think we have an opening to the show.Spoke to Bono three times today, which resulted in a lot of the loose ideas starting to come together. Having spent some time on the stage in Vancouver, it's easier for everyone to get a feel for what this might end up being. The addition of an audience would be a huge help but we have a little longer to wait for that.

Didn't work too late tonight as I could sense that everyone was feeling the same about today - all oddly unproductive. The night crew bailed from the venue about 2am and figured we'd have another go tomorrow.

It looks like we will have to do our Tonight Show residency another time - we're one man down. Bono has injured his arm in a cycling spill in Central Park and requires some surgery to repair it. We're sure he'll make a full recovery soon, so we'll be back! Much thanks to Jimmy Fallon and everyone at the show for their understanding.
