Show Day: Albany - Pepsi Arena
I've decided to declare U.D.I. for the next couple of days, as these towns are sufficiently close together to be a comfortable drive. My theory was that it would be much more pleasant to drive myself independently than to do the airport schlep with all its inherent waiting-in-minibuses.
Nice theory. I set off from Boston at about 11am and by 11.05 the sky had turned a charming shade of black prior to the heavens opening. The first hour of the journey was a drive-through remake of 'Twister' - the only compensation being that I was sure I was better off going through this weather in a car rather than in an aeroplane.
We are going to be filming the first two shows in Boston, so the film people joined us today for final meetings to get all the last details sorted out, which took up most of the afternoon. That and my having to finalise a design for a backdrop for the European shows which have a solid back wall instead of seats full of happy punters.
I also feel I need to point out that this is probably the only venue in America, which has benefited from a corporate take over. Its previous name? The Knickerbocker Arena...
