Show Day: Boston - Fleet Center, Show 2
Woke up about noon in a bit of a daze and staggered out for a bagel before getting back in a van returning to the venue. It was another long day, but we felt like we now had a more definite plan to work towards. After we'd spent some time doing camera rehearsals and relighting various songs, the band came in to soundcheck. Bono had spent the morning making a speech at Harvard University which he clearly had enjoyed enormously and everyone seemed in high spirits, ready for a second attack. The opening of the show and also "Streets" were being broadcast live to the NBA final in Los Angeles, which gave an edge to proceedings - there's nothing like knowing an additional 45 million people are watching the show to help focus the attention.

In the end things could not have gone better. Tonight's audience seemed to be from another city, if not another planet, from last night - it was the Boston audience as we remembered them. All looked good on the TV monitors which I was looking at and post-show reports were phoned in from around the nation saying that it had all gone over well at the NBA final. Much relief all round as we headed out for a drink or two.
