Show Day: Chicago - United Center, 2nd night
Tonight was a wild one. Sometimes its good to shake things up, though you never quite know what you'll get. The band played the 'Pop suite' of Gone, Discotheque & Staring at the Sun for the first time in a while & threw Pride in very near the beginning of the show, plus a completely different take on New York.... it was pretty chaotic, but had a great sense of abandon. Nights like this are harder work as you're chasing your tail the whole time, but I really enjoy them. Its good to keep things moving.
After the show was the first major crew party of the tour. Fintan in the wardrobe department organised it, with Sandy and Felix from catering, in the basement of a club in town. Music, drinks, dancing and a chance to kick back knowing its a full day off tomorrow. I bailed quite early, at about 4am, but for some it turned into a very long night, with a gathering to watch the sun come up over Lake Michigan. We had a lot of fun and everyone was on their best behaviour - there being only one drunken brawl all night.
