"Shite on a biscuit" was the succinct critique of the 'Bridget Jones' movie, given as we gathered in the hotel lobby to fly to Cleveland this morning. The Irish do have some of the most charming turns of phrase, I must say, this one paraphrasing James Joyce, if I'm not mistaken.

Mercifully the flight to Cleveland was less eventful than our mid-air suspension over Minneapolis. Driving past the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame which is next to the airport, we could see the Trabants from Zoo TV hanging in the glass atrium. Most cities regard U2 as a rock and roll band, but I guess Cleveland will forever remember them as second hand car salesmen.

Bono made us laugh during the show, talking about playing in Cleveland's Agora Ballroom in 1981 with an all girl punk band called "Bitch". "How are they doing, anyway?" he asked the audience.
