Show Day: Copenhagen Forum
Time-space relativity is a funny old thing. Yesterday when I got here, it felt like about a year since the last show at Meadowlands. When the intro tape started tonight and the band launched into "Elevation" it felt like, well, yesterday. Four bars in and we were all back in the groove. It was hot.It had been hot enough outside but inside the black, windowless building it was suffocating even before our 10,000 sweaty friends had poured in. The gig was pretty great but talk about a pressure cooker by the end of the gig Bono had his shirt off and half the audience was naked, more or less. It was unbelievably hot and airless the sweatiest gig since the Marquee Club in 1978. The audience didn't seem to mind though and it was such a vibe to see the entire audience on the floor of the building jumping up and down in unison. Elevation indeed. I had a pretty good gig for first day back at school. I only made three massive blunders during the show, and probably only one of those would have been at all noticeable to the band, so I reckon I got away with it.
