Still in Denver

Predictably, the minute I give myself a day off, I crash and burn. Felt very weird all day. Completely toasted. Maybe it's the altitude. Or maybe I am just a shell of a human, so trashed that I'm barely able to feign motor function. Either way, I holed up in my room for the day, wondering why no AOL addresses will receive e.mail from my MacMail programme any more. Its been a couple of weeks now. Everyone else in cyberspace is receiving me loud and clear, but AOL addresses, not a chance. I tried calling the AOL Help Line, but it soon became clear that the potted plant in my hotel room would be able to provide more assistance in the matter. (WW: 'Hello, tech support? I'm calling to see if you can direct me to someone who might know why AOL is rejecting all mail that comes from my MacMail account.' AOL: 'Thankyou sir, and would you be interested in signing up for a free trial subscription with AOL today?' WW: 'err..well..oh sod off.', etc.)

I watched a couple of DVDs. Firstly a film I'd heard about called 'What the Bleep do We Know' which a journey down the rabbit hole' of spirituality and quantum physics. There were interviews with a dozen or so physicists, theologians and new age nutters which drew parallel lines in a fascinating way. Sadly the film makers chose to interview this with an embarrassingly lame narrative drama, which ran along the lines of Angst-Ridden, Self Loathing Alice goes through the Looking Glass to Quantum Physics Wonderland and discovers Harmony, Spiritual Awareness and Inner Meaning. And draws hearts all over herself with an eyebrow pencil and has a bath. Yes, really. Anyway, the interviews with the Physicists were well worth the $9.99 I paid for the DVD, so no hard feelings.

Bruce came over later and we watched 'Sideways'. Bruce had never seen it before, and even though it was my fourth viewing I still laughed myself silly. Its such a perfect little movie and I have met SO many guys like Jack on the road.
