I had another meeting with Tim and Ros Moriarty this morning and was delighted to see how much progress has been made on our animated Aboriginal artwork piece. I think were on to a winner and Im very much looking forward to seeing it on the giant Vertigo video screen.
From here to the airport and a pleasantly uneventful flight to Brisbane. It was dark by the time I got to the hotel and from the minute I walked into reception I began a series of reunions which I suspect will continue unabated for the next day or so. The crew had been loading in at ANZ stadium today, but most people have flown in from far-flung corners of the planet so the work day was already winding up as people collapsed under the weight of jet lag.
I sat in the Losers Lounge (i.e. the hotel lobby bar) for a while and caught up with crew guys I havent seen all year, having essentially the same conversation with each. (What you been up to, hows your year been?) Answers ran the gamut from the mundane to the spectacular, including childbirth, bereavement, marriage, divorce and in one particularly spectacular instance, brain surgery. Now we are reunited and passengers once more on the good ship Vertigo. The mood is good, jet lag notwithstanding, and Im looking forward to tomorrow.
