Mississippi River
This was my second (of nine) time seeing the band in New Orleans. In May of 81 they played at a venue called "Ole Man Rivers" and I was hooked. This particular show was on an actual riverboat, The SS President, that cruised up and down the Mississippi River during the show. Great show with a few hundred people. Small stage and killer set list ending with "I Will Follow" which I am still doing. The band put on a great show in Joshua Tree show New Orleans this year as well and I'm already making plans for a show next year. Side note: Tickets were $8.50

U2 Opening Act!
Yes, U2 was the opening act for Cyndi Lauper. I remember a friend asking me if I wanted to see Cyndi Lauper. It was an extra ticket so I went did not know U2 was the opening act. We were sitting at one of the tables off the floor and U2 started playing. I'm like Oh that is the band that sings that song Gloria on MTV! I fell in love at that moment watching them play and listening to the words. The songs were great even back then. No baracades, guards or wrist bands needed for this concert. You can just basically talk to the band but I did not, too scared. I of course now regret that stupid decision. I love them then and NOW. That the first concert of 5 shows I've seen.
