Zoo TV, Baby!
I was 17 years old, living in Nashville, TN. The closest they were playing to me was in Atlanta on March 5, 1992. I felt incredibly lucky to be at that show, as my friend and I had tried to call in to Ticketmaster for tickets and never got through. We ended up driving down to Atlanta on the morning of the show with no tickets and not a whole lot of money, praying someone would sell us tickets for a reasonable price. Scalpers outside the arena were trying to get way more money than we could afford, and we almost gave up. Then a guy came up to us about an hour before the show and said he had to leave due to a family emergency. He sold us his tickets for face value, and they were great seats!!! That show blew me away. I remember screaming my head off when Bono came out at the beginning of Zoo Station, doing that kick that he did in front of one of the big screens. So cool! I have been to at least 2 shows per tour since then and loved them all, but that first show holds a special place in my heart. U2 is the best live band ever.
