U2 in New Jersey, 28.10.01 by  Lori Hampson

It's times like these that I wish I had the power, influence, and all-access capabilities to personally thank U2.  In the wake of the September 11th attacks, New Jersey needed to be elevated now more than ever.
U2 gave us that and more on Sunday night, 10/28, at Continental Airlines Arena.

U2 were nothing short of PHENOMENAL.  The crowd was on fire, and the band was totally feeding off our energy.
Through a U2-angel, I was very fortunate to land 2nd row GC seats off of U2's stage left.  AMAZING!  I lost count of how many times Bono's beautiful Irish eyes were looking right into our section.  :)  U2 played all the goodies like Pride, Streets, Sunday Bloody Sunday, etc.  Then they pulled out all the stops and played Angel of Harlem, All I Want Is You, Please (acoustic), and I Still Haven't Found...

Sunday Bloody Sunday, Pride, and Streets rendered me
in a state of U2 ecstasy.   At the end of All I Want
Is You, we were prepared to go the distance as Bono prompted us to respond singing, "You!"  And to no one's surprise, it was overwhelming to hear Bono sing, "Even New Jersey loves New York."

U2's NJ elevation undeniably proved that they are consummate showmen, the last of a dying breed of real rock stars.

Thank you, U2, for coming back to New Jersey and giving us hope and happiness.  Your music is medicine
for our souls.   God Bless!

This was the second time I saw this tour (last on 6/2 in Albany) and this time I saw it from the floor and not the seats.  Being 20 feet away from Bono and Edge was an amazing experience and I must thank them for the time they spent on the heart.   It was amazing, as always.  Thank you U2 for playing Please, All I Want is You (that was such a wonderful surprise)  and Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For (the one song my dragged-along boyfriend truly wanted to hear) and for the beautiful tribute to the victims of the September 11th attacks.  As usual the atmosphere was stunning ;the music was overwhelming and I cannot wait until the next show.  Thanks again to U2 for everything.
