Edge, Adam and U2 each won prizes this week at the Orville H. Gibson Guitar Awards in Hollywood.

Adam took away Best Bass Player - for the second year running - Edge wonBest Guitarist and U2, collectively, won Best Guitar Band.

Rock guitar pioneer Scotty Moore and legendary banjo great Earl Scruggsreceived the Orville H. Gibson Lifetime Achievement Award, the programme¹stop honor.

The nominations included over 50 artists in 10 categories that encompassguitar-driven music genres of rock, blues, folk, country and jazz.

The annual Orville H. Gibson Guitar Awards are traditionally presented onthe day before the Grammy Awards to recognize guitar players (and players ofrelated fretted instruments) for their artistic accomplishments and to honormusicians who reflect the spirit of Orville H. Gibson (1856-1918) and hisbelief in quality, innovation and tradition. Nominees and winners are votedupon by members of the music media.
