U2360° TOUR

Aug 10 2010
Frankfurt, DE / Commerzbank Arena
with Kasabian

'Be with you, be with you, night and day...'.

Second show in Europe opens with The Return of the Stringray Guitar again but this time, after Beautiful Day, the set list changes, we're into New Year's Day and after that the 360 spaceship heads way out into orbit.

'Danke Kasabian for giving us lift off, ' says Bono. 'I want to thank you all for coming out tonight, I hope you like our space station...truly, we built this to get closer to you.'

Another capacity crowd at the Commerzbank Arena in Frankfurt with 'Happy Birthday Edge!' signs competing for attention with the Irish flags. We spotted Helena Christensen at the mix, along with Michael Stipe and Bono has special reason to be grateful tonight.

'I'd like to say a personal thanks to a team of German doctors who are the reason I am here tonight, a great and gifted team.
'I have been rebuilt using the best engineering in the world, German engineering. I have 'made in Germany' now stamped on my ass. I have never felt better, I feel like... like a Mercedes Benz.'

A rocking riot of a show tonight but there are tender notes too, everyone gathered at a huge music show just days after the tragedy at the Love Parade dance festival in Duisburg. And on that poignant note, the show closes.
'For everyone who lost their life - for their friends and familes. This is Moment of Surrender.'

Were you at the show tonight ? We want to hear how it was for you ?

Add your highlights, reviews and upload your photos.

And if you weren't there tell us what you think.

Beautiful Day in Melbourne

THANK YOU!!
u2360° in Frankfurt 2010 The show was magnificent and even though I saw the stage before (2009 in Gelsenkirchen) I was again amazed by its size. The performance was another reminder that you cannot really put the U2 experience on a album. I could use so many words but they all come to the same meaning - THANK YOU BONO, EDGE, ADAM & LARRY! Thanks for putting in words and music what life around us really means! See you again on the next tour!!
:)
The best day of my life. Thanks

This was my tenth U2-Concert so far (I had Hannover two days later too, for my own surprise(-:) and my third 360° experience. Still shivering and feeling showers whenever i remember Bono paying tribute to the LOVEPARADE- victims. I had the luck not to be there, but lots of other Police-Officers like me are now victims too, caused by seeing people dying or getting injured. So I wanna thank Bono and the whole Band for playing Moment Of Surrender for all the loveparade- victims. Greetings from Germany

Achtung Frankfurt
The best song was Vertigo. It gave me such a adrenaline thrill. I totally did not expect Hold Me, Thrill Me and 'Streets was also very enlighting. Most memorable moment was during Glastonbury, when for a few seconds I really thought Bono was watching me. Ah the whole show was amazing and too bad it was over so soon. I'm looking forward to the next album/Tour and hope I can be part of it again.

Obscured View
The Frankfurt show was amazing – loved it. However I was slightly disappointed that during Vertigo the screen drops down around the band so low that I could not see them performing. Plus during the song the screen is a blur of fast images. I admit I was high up in the stands, but it was annoying to only be able see their shadows creeping out from under the giant screen/cage. Perhaps something to consider guys. Regardless, I’m looking forward to seeing you again in Brisbane.

It was my second U2 concert of my life, very surprising, huge stage, unbelievable! I sang, I cried, I smiled, I yelled and I enjoyed so much! Highlights: Miss Sarajevo, Moment of surrender, Magnificent and Where the streets have no names. I travelled all the way from Sao Paulo to see them live. Dreams came true! Please come to Brazil, you know you´ve got bunch of fans here. I love you guys. Greetings from Brazil. Peace, Silvia Tamanaha.

My Son's First U2 Concert
It was our first concert in Europe. My wife and I have been at U2 concerts in the US before, but the special occasion was our Son Gabriel, 9 Years old, with us under the Claw! We were right against the circle, so Gabriel was able to "sit" in the black Grid and support in my shoulder. I really thank the patience of our neighbors, a lady from France and friends from Norway that we met in the line. We only had to move quickly when the bridges get together at "until the End of the World", which by the way, sounded amazing!!! The Look of my Son the 1st time He sees Bono just 1 meter away is one of my best moments ever at a concert. I will never forget that. Another great Moment that U2 has given us. The Band was amazing that night, I love the change they made of being on the stage right when "Space Oditty" ends, that was a total surprise for me this time. The 2 new songs sounded incredible, everything was MAGNIFICENT!!!

Something special in Frankfurt
Frankfurt and then Hannover, both awesome, but there was something very special about this show. The whole thing was just perfect, the band seemed really tight and Bono's voice was just WOW. There was a moment in Miss Sarajevo when he hits that note, a moment the whole crowd is silent and you are all elevated together somewhere so very very special. Thank you so much

360 tour Frankfurt
me and my husband were at the show in frankfurt, he is not a big fan but knows some songs. he even liked the show. I got goosebumps when U2 came on stage, with in my mind the thoughts with bono how he was recovered from his surgery. But I was stund, he was rockin the show, and i think he gave us a performance of how fit he is again, by dancing on stage. The hole stadion was insane, completly going mad hahah It was great to be there, I wouldn't miss it in the world. This is something you had to do once in your life ( maybe in as in my case 6 or 7 times) in your life. Thanks U2
Great Tour & Venue
We flew from the UK to see the Frankfurt show and was magnificent worth the wait and, just fantastic. can't wait for the next one. Music, sound quality, vocals and the croud were superb many thanks! Nigel,

REQUEST SONG - COIMBRA CONCERT
Hello U2: My name is JOÃO. I am Portuguese and I will attend the first concert in Coimbra (02 october). I know this is a stupid and impossible request. But I'll try anyway. My mother died last July 13 with a stupid and dramatic disease called Cancer. I am one of many eager fans of U2, and I would like Bono sang a snippet of the song "Sometimes You Can Make It On Your Own" in memory of my mother. It would, for me, the best tribute which could provide to my mother. Sorry for my inconvenience, but I've been thinking for a while, if i send or not this email. Maybe this is a dream for a crazy u2 fan. At least i try. Thank you for your atention João Almeida
Frankfurt! Frankfurt!

Willkommen nach Frankfurt
My friend and I are Irish and U2 fans since 1978, however it was our first time to see the band on "foreign" soil. What an awesome concert!!! It has been over 20 years since I was last in Germany and I want to say to everyone in Frankfurt: Thanks guys for making us feel very welcome!! I agree totally with Bono, something special is going on there!! Best song: So difficult to choose but The Unforgettable Fire sounds as good if not better than it did 25 years ago!! Veilen Dank Frankfurt!!

First Show
This was the first U2 concert for me and I must tell everyone that the reality surpassed a million times my dreams since January (when I bought the ticket). I have never seen anything so marvelous in my entire life! My only regret is reading the site of Commerzbank Arena where it was written that you are not allowed with cameras, so I didn't bring mine... Never mind that now, the important thing was being there and seeing with my own eyes and hearing with my own ears the band play. I loved all the songs, but Moment of Surrender was my favorite. I didn't know the play list from the beginning, so the first sounds of every song came as real little surprises for everyone of them. It was worth waiting until the end for my favorite song... And I'm waiting now for the next tour! Thank you U2 for the most exceptional evening of my life!

Can't Wait to Zurich, Paris and Sevilla
When i was 14 in the 80's, i used to go skiing and stay in the same hotel. In this hotel their was a very small discotheque (bar) where we used to drink a soda every night. One night they played sunday Bloody Sunday, and i remember i was litterally chocked...I felt like i had no legs anymore..Since that time U2 became the BAND, the music i will always love and will always listen my all life. Joshua Tree album was a revalation, something mistical, kind of religious communion...Then when the POP, Achtung baby Albums arrived, i feld disappointed, did not recognize the music i was expecting (Nowadays i think those albums are really great and the live performances were amazing, POP tour on DVD or the sarajevo bootleg are amazing.(The "Please " version live followed by Streets is incredible...). Last year i was in Paris and in Wembley...This year i can't wait to see U2 in Zurich 11/9 , Paris 18/9 and sevilla 29/9. The "restored, tuned with german technology Bono, with his new Bulgari sunglasses looks great...The edge has never been as good as he is... I hope "No Line on the horizon" will will come back on the set list as i think it is a great song with a lot of energy. I wish to have "Please" on the set list, love the way they play "unforgttable fire" on this tour. This Band will leave behind song's that are immortal (One, Streets...) Songs that people will always love. It is for sure the biggest and the best Band ever. With Bono's inspired Lyrics and melodies, Edges incredible talend and sound, Adam's soul and Larry as the Pilar of these emotions, this band will play hopefully for many more years. Love you all and Welcome Back

A pocket full of sunshine!!!
Good to see you back Bono and the rest of the boys! Love the new songs! Can't hear them enough. U2 never missed a step starting a bit late on 360, 2010. Can't wait to when you come around here to Salt Lake City! Great show. Only one down note for me. I agree with "pcireland"'s comment. Although I love "Hold Me, Thrill Me...", "ultraviolet" is such an amazing song for this tour, or any to be honest. Hate to see it go. I don't think U2 makes requests but if you come around to SLC or Philly, a huge fan would love to hear "Ultraviolet" again...Please "light my way"! Otherwise, so happy you are back up on stage. Like a long lost family member!

GREAT! but....
No doubt it was a great show, and we all had a great time, we were in a great spot, right in front of the center of the stage, but it all sounded like they still needed some "fine tuning", like it wasn't quite there yet. A lot of mistakes (for example: new year's day, unforgettable fire, city of blinding lights)and to be honest, I didn't like the setlist that much. The set "felt" like a great collection of songs, but it wasn't a "whole" and the opening of the show is not nearly as overwhelming as in the previous leg. But hey, I don't want to sound all negative here, I'm just glad to see Bono all back in one piece, and it's great to see that they are still enjoying themselves. Glastonbury is a great new song, and I look forward to seeing another show soon!
