Show Report
North Star and Mercy among the highlights for first of two shows in Coimbra tonight. I Will Follow was another surprise early on, while Hold Me Thrill Me returned in the final encore.

Fifty four thousand packed into the Estadio Cidade tonight and what a noise they made.'Briosa, Briosa' called Bono as the show opened, the chant of the local Academica football team, and everyone here sang it back to him with interest.

'Where are we going? Lisboa... Porto... Braga...Coimbra!' What an ovation that received, welcoming the band for their first ever show in Portugal's main university town.

'If you'd gone to the University of Coimbra, what might you have been?' Bono asked Edge. 'I don't know if I would have lasted but I would have fallen back on my original career plan - a male model.'

When Larry grows up, he revealed, 'I fancy myself as a professional musician.'

Adam, asked Bono, you've had time to think about this. 'I'd like to try my hand at chemical engineering.'

As for the singer? 'Me? I am what I would have been... a travelling salesman. I sell songs with this group, my three best friends.'

Another special night on the long and winding road that is the 360 Tour and now just two night to go in Europe.

'Thank you so much. Obrigado. This is Moment of Surrender...'

If you were there tonight we want to hear from you. Post your own review below and upload your photos.

A memorable night
This was a fabulous concert with a very good set list, more conservative than the 1st leg in Dublin in 24/Jun/2009 - that was by far, my favourite. Anyway, this 1st show in Coimbra was a \"bomb\", full of energy and intensity. A last note - it was the 1st concert where I\'ve made photography and I must say it was a great experience - amazing light!!! Thank you for a memorable night.

Another special Show
The first time i saw U2 in Portugal was the magnificent ZooTv, and it was something out of this world. I guess i was maybe 16 or 17 year's old. Saw PopMart and Vertigo Tour, and there i was again to see 360º tour. This is my band since i was 11 year's old, and now i'm 35, so, have allready 24 year's of die hard fan, i guess it's something. Coimbra shows were what i expected...fabulous! Thank you to those amazing 4 guys for filling my life with happiness and you will allways be in my heart forever as members of my familly. Thank you for everything. And when you stop playng music, i will stop hearing music, will listen only your's. Love from Portugal and Elvas.

Fantastic night!!!
Has always wanted to be attending to a U2 concert. And realized that dream. It was a great show, the crowd was in ecstasy! I think they also liked it, because in Portugal the public is very participatory, the taste of them. It is an experience to repeat, no doubt. Abraço de Portugal

What a Show
What a GREAT night! ONE of the best ever... Maybe, just maybe the best was in Dublin (24/07/2009 - what a show). But at Coimbra on this first show WOW.... What a thrill to attend to a new U2 concert: simply great! Bouncing, jumping and shouting loud every word of almost every songs. The acoustic sound of North Star was amazing. Love it. I got goosebumps on several songs. The songs In A Little While, and Miss Sarajevo .... were just brutal... :)))))))))) Marta Luisa

I TRAVEL FROM MEXICO TO EUROPE (MEXICO C
Travel from Mexico City for the last three U2 shows in Europe, I was ready my trip to see U2 in Anaheim in June and July in Montreal and New York and I cried a lot when Bono injured his back, not because had postponed the tour of USA and Canada for 2011, I cried at the thought that Bono was injured or perhaps take a long time to return to the stage, when he came back better than ever in Turin I did not think more and arranged to go Portugal and Rome, (Roma was only in my plans before thet). This first concert in Coimbra took my heart because Bono saw this sign MEXICO LOVE U2 ( was just down in the second row of the pit) when finished With or without you, Bono saw to my eyes, and said, COME TO MEXICO or COMMING TO MEXICO... was a beautiful moment for me .... and in those days it was announced the first date of MEXICO and when I flew only had my ticket for the first date so it was really very special to me. ONE BEAUTIFUL DAY IN COIMBRA 1¡¡

Tiago loves U2!!
After almost 28 years listening to U2, and 16 concerts of the 360º tour, finally took my son Tiago to the frontline in Coimbra. I had gone with him to Milan last year but seating on the 3rd floor. In Coimbra wanted him to feel the energy of the best band ever, and he loved it. See you next year!!

One week and one day later...
One week and one day later... it's still Bono singing on my head, the Edge making those guitars screaming, Adam with his superstyle seting the rithym, Larry making the pace of it all...and myself having the time of my life! Even if it passed one week and one day...it feels like NOW! I'm still there and U2 are still playing! That's the magic of U2, that was the magic of the 2nd of October. It was a BEAUTIFUL DAYYYYY!

It was the best of the 8 shows i've seen from the U2360 tour! Not just because it was home, but because of the amazing crowd and the band... they delivered themselves to us. Great, great show. I even brought Mr. Mc Phisto with me :)

It was the 4th U2 concert that i saw in Portugal. And what a memorable one! After so many years of concerts it is amazing to see the energy that the band still has and how much fun they get from the gigs. Thanks. Hope they'll return to Portugal in 2011.

Two Beautiful Days
No words can describe how I felt this weekend..! I was there on both nights and can't tell which was best... Both were full of humbleness and tenderness, given by the four of them...specially, by Bono...! Emotional....very emotional nights...! It is a lifetime of dedication that has been rewarded once more... Obrigada!... Go raibh maith agat !

The first of many shows!
I arrived at Coimbra at Wednesday, and yes, the show was Saturday! I was the first fan there, and I'm remembering when I was sitting in the floor and 2 guys who were part of the crew who built The Claw asked me if I was there for U2 show and they seemed so amazed! I slept at the stadium's door all nights, and waited hours and hours for being next to The Claw. When the doors opened and I start running I just couldn't believe that I would be inside the Inner Circle! The 4 hours I waited for U2 were the longest hours in my entire life! When I started listening to Space Oddity I went crazy! I mean, U2 were there. I've waited years for that moment, and there I was, in the 2nd line of the Inner Circle! When I saw Bono moving and jumping and saying Briosa Briosa my eyes got full of tears. The person who I admire the most in the world was meters from me! Who was inside the Inner Circle didn't stoped jumping and singing, we were living that moment. Nothing else mattered. When Miss Sarajevo started and I looked around, I saw thousands of small lights, and I got chills. It was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. And when we sang Streets (I guess) and Bono went on his knees and started doing an ovation... gosh, it was the most impressive thing he could have done that night. And there he was, the most impressive and amazing person in the world, doing it in front of me. I'll remember that moment forever. My idol, sang, jumped, smiled (his smile is just perfect), talked portuguese (by the way, a very good portuguese!). When he put on his led jacket and hanged on the microphone, I... I was speechless. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. And at the end of the song, he reached out to the crowd! His hand was so close to mine, it looked like a dream! Thinking about it seems so unreal, and amazing, and too good to be true! But the show wasn't only about him. Seeing The Edge playing was just magical! He makes magic with his guitars. When I looked up and saw him walking in the bridge... I don't know what I felt. And what about Adam? He looked just amazing, as allways! He's such a nice person. He was allways smiling for the people, and we liked it! And at last but not least, Larry. I couldn't see him very well, because he was behind the drums all time, but when I saw him walking during Crazy, I got crazy! And when he and Adam had "their" moment, the crowd went crazier! I could stay here all night talking about that night. Those 2 hours were the best hours of my life. I just need to thanks to U2 for making my life so much better. Now, my dream has come true - I've seen U2 live :) Thank you thank you thank you! 2nd October will not be forget
