In the UK, Channel Four Are hosting a weekend of great U2 concert programming.

The three night U2 WEEKEND special kicks off tonight, Friday, with U2's BEAUTIFUL DAY, LIVE FROM SLANE CASTLE, IRELAND. Tomorrow night the channel airs POPMART LIVE FROM MEXICO CITY and on Sunday the U2 WEEKEND concludes with ZOO TV LIVE FROM SYDNEY.

Kicking off Channel 4's U2 weekend on Friday November 8th is this veryspecial U2 performance, recorded last year at Slane Castle, Co Meath. Theband became the first in history to play a second date at the castle, thefirst time being back in 1981 when they supported Thin Lizzy. All 80,000tickets sold out in 94 minutes as fans rushed to see one of thebest live bands in the world perform as part of their 'Elevation' 2001 Tour.Showing for the first time in the UK, Channel 4 gives viewers theopportunity to see the band perform many of their classic tracks includingBeautiful Day, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Where The Streets Have No Name and One.U2 weekend continues on Saturday 9th with PopMart Live recorded in MexicoCity and on Sunday 10th with Zoo TV live from Sydney.

U2 WEEKEND: POPMART LIVE FROM MEXICO CITY
In 1997 U2 released their album Pop, and with it staged their biggest andmost ambitious stage show to date, the PopMart tour. Despite using a 55 foottall, 170 foot wide video screen, giant lemons and elaborate effects, theband managed to maintain their emotionally compelling message to stadiumsize audiences. This live performance sees the band play a 23 song, careerspanning set which includes classics such as Discotheque, Until The End OfThe World, Mysterious Ways and Desire.

U2 WEEKEND: ZOO TV LIVE FROM SYDNEY
With the arrival of U2's groundbreaking album Achtung Baby came a new kindof live show. The Zoo TV Live experience was widely lauded as the Sgt.Pepper of rock tours, using the latest in live technology andcircumnavigating the globe twice in almost two years. This liveperformance, recorded in Sydney in December 1993, captures the band duringthis new stage of innovation, as they unleash their latest material to anaudience of 45,000, playing tracks such as Zoo Station, The Fly, Even BetterThan The Real Thing, Love Is Blindness and Lemon.
