'In The Name of Love'

It was a joyful Sunday night touched with sorrow as the band wrapped up their second week in Las Vegas with a show filled with both raucous and raw emotion.

During the entr'acte between the first and second half of Achtung Baby, the band turned their attention to the deadly attacks a day earlier in Israel and Gaza, including the Supernova trance music festival where people were celebrating the Jewish holiday of sukkot.

Coming out of 'I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For,' Bono included a snippet of the Jimmy Cliff song, 'Many Rivers to Cross,' singing: 'Many rivers to cross, but I can't seem to find, my way back over…Wandering I am lost, yes I can't seem to find, my way back over.'

What Did Bono Say

'Let's bring some light to a world that needs it', he said during 'One'.

Introducing 'I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For', Bono said: 'This next song would not have happened without the inspirational genius of poets like Allen Ginsberg, who woke me up to poetry and the psalms, and these Jewish mystics out in the desert who would hear the voice of God in the quietest whispers. I think about Allen's [poem] 'Kaddish' right now'.

To the audience, introducing ‘Pride (In The Name Of Love)’: ‘You sort of own these songs….Your lives are wrapped up in them. We might have written them, but whatever you're going through in your life — great joy or despair — our songs, we hope, are useful to you.'

'In the light of what's happened in Israel and Gaza, a song about nonviolence seems somewhat ridiculous, even laughable, but our prayers have always been for peace and for nonviolence…so, sing with us and those beautiful kids at that music festival’, he said.

Shout Outs

To Gavin Friday, on his birthday.

On the Socials

'Amazing and poignant U2 concert last night. It was a special night for sure. The visuals and sound of the venue are off the charts, but there was a real connection between the band, the audience and what's happening in the world that can't be matched. #U2UVSPHERE' — @ildemocrat on X

'#TheSphere is an incredible music venue. @u2 an incredible show. We had top row seats, could feel the music. Visuals incredible. #U2UVSPHERE … Thank you!” —@JuliePile on X

'B captures the emotions of these moments so well. The rage, the pain, the anguish, the faint light of hope in the darkness. Keep shining your light, Lads. We GET to carry each other. #U2 @U2 #U2UVSphere @U2Community' — @bigreddiver on X

About Bono's comments during 'Pride'): 'Wow. That's the heaviest topical moment at the sphere. I wonder how the crowd took it.' — hexis

Night two of two was incredible!
One of the best (of many, many) shows I've seen.

A beautiful day, a dream come true
A fan since 1980, I had seen the band live only once before, for the JT tour in October 1987. Being able to travel to Vegas to see them once again was a dream come true. "Living the dream" is an expression of speech, but for me that week, for those three shows, it was real. Thank you, U2, for the music. Thank you for your love and passion. You are, as ever, useful to us all. Thank you!! <3 : )

It Doesn't Get Any Better Than This!!
On Sunday evening, I watched my 25th U2 concert at the Sphere. If I never get the chance to see them again, I will feel that it just doesn't get any better than this night. How U2 can perform an intimate performance in such a large space is beyond me. The sphere is amazing!! It didn't overpower them at all, just enhanced their amazing Achtung Baby songs. The artwork and effects however were spectacular; tasteful and yet always sends a message of how precious the earth and our place in it is. Thank you to such an amazing band for breaking open this experience!!!!! Sue Constantino Shelton, CT

Beautiful Night
V: life-changing on many audio-visual levels for this lifelong fan, but the constant compassion for others and worldview that U2 and its music promotes of peace and non-violence carried through the beautiful night…an unforgettable moment in time. Thank you U2 and Sphere Las Vegas.

Breathtaking … business as usual
Once again U2 proved they are even greater than all the high technology that surrounded them this evening. It was breathtaking! Witnessed Bono’s speech for Israel. The speech will live on. Such a huge venue but it felt small. It felt intimate. It felt right. It’s U2 what do you expect.

Stunning show!
Once again, U2 outperform expectations. This was our second show in a row, and Sunday night's performance was even greater than Saturday's amazing one. It was wonderful to view the whole spectacle from a completely different vantage point. The energy in the enormous Sphere was powerful, and the band rose to the occasion, not least in their the poignant performance of "Pride." Everything from opener, "Zoo Station," to the vital sequence of encores was just fantastic. A show for the ages, never to be forgotten!

Coming to the 10/11 show! :-) With Adjus
My wife Lisa and I were super excited to celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary at the Sphere (Anniversary is actually 10/9). Saw the Superbowl ad and were excited to get tix (200 level) on the initial day of sale. Planned to go on to Napa after the show as well. At the end of Sept my wife was hospitalized with a serious internal issue. On a 3X antibiotic infusion so can not travel. Since this is a once in a lifetime event (my favorite album of all time as well), she encourage me to still go (my brother taking her ticket). Maybe the band can give Lisa a shout out on 10/11! Thx, Scott P.
