Like the rest of the band, Edge had his bags half-packed and was thinking about setting out on the next leg of the tour.

Edge Skyped in from New York earlier today, to let us know how everything is going.

Get Well Soon!
Hey Bono, take your time getting back on your feet, you can't rush these things! I was supposed to be seeing U2, for the first time, in Edmonton on the 23rd of June but I will gladly wait while you recuperate, gives me something to look forward to. I've missed out many tours before, for one reason or another, but this time I will be there! Meanwhile I'll watch the 360 DVD and dream. Best wishes, Juliette

Take Care, Bono
Dear Bono,Hope your recovery is going as planned. I know it is not easy. Take your time and know that your fans will be patienly waiting and ready to welcome you back to Chicago with open arms. Saw U2 for the first time at the Aragon Ball Room in Chicago 12/1983. You and the lads blew me away and I have been a devoted fan since.I wish you well. Look forward to seeing U2 in Chicago, however don't rush it! We want you back in good health. Catherine

Love from Austria
Dear Bono, I hope that you will feel better soon. Please take as much time as you need to recover completely, health is really the most important thing. Thank you for coming to my country for several times, every concert was an unforgettable highlight in my life and all your performances were full of heart and soul! "No Line On The Horizon" is a very intense album, I particularly love its experimental approach, so I am looking forward to hearing new songs! Walk on, Bono, walk on!

Thanks Edge!
Thanks so much Edge for taking the time to do this video for the fans. It is much appreciated, especially in light of all the speculation that had been going on. Thanks for setting it all straight. Make sure Bono does indeed take care of himself this time and heals all the way before doing anything he shouldn't be. We can wait. This can wait. Will hold on to my ticket knowing that when you reschedule the Philly show, it'll be incredible with Bono in top form. Looking forward to the new songs. Oh.. if you really want those paintings and such Bono promised after his surgery, just take 'em. I'm fairly sure you could run faster then him right. Just sayin'. :) All the best to you, Bono, Adam and Larry. Prayers being said for Bono's healing and recovery. :)

I love you bono!
I'm Just glad you're okay! I want you to gain a full recovery and learn to take rests more often. That is just as important as work. Thank you edge for being so considerate in letting the fans know how hes doing. Make sure your mate does what the doctors say. I know him to be impatient as well. Bono, here's a hug from faraway in palmer,Alaska! and god bless your family too. I hope this will help you find a way to be able to spend more time with them. We all care deeply about you, you're one of the only people i Know who almost made me faint when I heard the news! so please be careful and cheer up. this will turn out fine for you. Love, else- i dream to dance onstage with you soon.

Good luck.
I do hope Bono gets well. Back injuries are horribly painful as a rule, sir, so listen to your physical therapist and do the exercises no matter how uncomfortable they are!! Get well and good luck!!

Get well soon!!!
We were flying over last year from the Canary Islands (Tenerife) to Berlin and saw your magnificent show there! It was a 100% deja vu from the Zoo TV show I went to in Cologne x years earlier. Just wanted to thank all of you guys for making it possible for us to watch you making this music for us. As for Bono I think the three of you will have to watch his back as you have allways done. Prayers for a fast recovery
We have tickets to the SLC and Denver shows and are excited to see you live again (we went to the first show in Chicago last year). We hope that you are starting to feel better and that your recovery is going well. Looking forward to hearing when the rescheduled dates are, but ensure you are taking care of yourself first. Many blessings to you and your family--sending many prayers up for a speedy recovery.

Do as you are told ! xx
Thanks Edge. The time you took to just talk to us all about the situation is worth it's weight in gold. So personal and thoughtful.Bono is very lucky to have got through a very close shave ! He was sensible enough to get seen pronto, and just as well he did !I've had a back problem for the past 16 years, loads of pain management, physio etc etc, it really is the case that he must follow doctors order s.So true that he must be patient and not push himself too far, too fast. That is something you learn along the way after you have had a few set backs. This sounds like it has been coming for a while, and is age related.Sad but true ! The Friday you were having your operation Bono, I was having my first session of physio again for troubles with the sciatic nerve...weird!Anyway,take care and loads of love, work with it,and it may seem like forever, but you will get back to full mobility. Heck, I struggled to get to Wembley last year, but I was damn sure I wasn't going to miss you because of my stupid back ! Seriously, follow the doctors orders, and you will be just fine.xxxxJudy.xxxxx UK.

Bono's support
Hey man, I can't read the news today ! They said that our superhero got hurt. This can't be true. This is once again some journalist's crap. Anyaway here from Bordeaux, France, we are with you Bono and hope you will recover very soon.See ya in Stade de France, eventhough you should come some day here to taste some of our good wine. Best medecine ever. Bertrand.

bono get well
No short-cuts, do the therapy- I've been there. We here in the SF Bay Area don't care how long it takes to see you again- what we want is another 30 years of the greatest band in the world showing up occasionally and giving us a great night- so slow and steady - we know you love us as much as we love you - so get well and take as long as you need to to get it right! I was there in Oakland when you opened for J.Geils on the "October" tour and I have been at every Bay Area show since- and I'll be there in 2011 at the Coliseum when U2 reschedules. So get well old friend! Carl
