'AHK-toong BAY-bi Covered'

A host of famous names, including The Killers, Jack White, Nine Inch Nails, Snow Patrol, Patti Smith and Depeche Mode, have re-created U2’s Achtung Baby album in celebration of its 20th anniversary.
 
The collection of brand new recordings, 'AHK-toong BAY-bi Covered', also marks the 25th anniversary of Q Magazine, and Q Editor in Chief Paul Rees said he believes the album sets a new - and higher - benchmark for the growing popularity of free CD's.  'Not only in the sense that each of the tracks are brand new recordings by some of the biggest and most iconic names in music such as Jack White, Nine Inch Nails and Patti Smith, but also in that several of them mark the first new material we have heard from these acts in a long time – such as those by The Killers, Damien Rice and Garbage.
'This is an entirely appropriate way to mark Q's anniversary and that of Achtung Baby, one of the pivotal albums in our lifetime.'
 
The magazine/CD package will be available in store from October 26th and also from www.qthemusic.com.

You can subscribe to Q magazine in the US. It's about 80 bucks for the year. Not sure if you subscribed now, if you would get this issue though.

Last night I checked the Q Magazine site and the November issue was still up for sale. Just checked this morning and the Q December Issue + FREE CD is sold out. Hope there is another opportunity to get the CD other than Ebay.

I would like to know, like many others brazilians, if that album of covers, and the Achtung Baby Specials (cds, vinil books, etc) and the documentary "Form the sky down" will be released in Brazil. We really would like to have them all!!!

I can't wait to hear it,and having Gavin Friday doing "The Fly" should be interesting because him and Bono sound the same.It will be kinda wierd hearing Patti Smith singing my tune UTEOTW.

Really awesome that this amazing great band made a cover for U2. They have the same photographer (Anton Corbijn), but now there is a musical combination. Wow.......... Great job Dave, Martin & Andy :-)

on 11\1\11 to 11\11\11...im going to be running 111 miles with my 111 sponsers for a drinking well in Nakuru Kenya for children in 6 schools...i will also be listening to Achtung Baby remastered and all the music I get during all 111 miles...i cant wait...im so pumped for the 111 hours of prayer i will do as well while watching my sdney live dvd.,.its going to be glorious...i cannot wait to give this money on 11/11/11 to this African village and all its schools...i cant wait till i get also 111 people to sign the one campaign petition...its going to be a great November...i hear the cry of the poor and cannot to help them and to dream out loud...this albulm has changed my life

who's Gonna Buy q Magazine Here In Chile
I wanna know where can i buy q magazine in Chile in december because here in my country is very difficult to find rare material like cd singles,etc.. . is awesome this album a lot a of great bands,but very sad to say that would be very hard to find in Chile. Good luck for the future. U2 the best band of the world,like The Beatles of 2000's. Bye & Take Care I hope something fresh & new of U2 in the future. Bye :)

Achtung Baby!!!
I managed to hear the Jack White cover of Love is Blindness today, one word - Awesome! Not as good as the original of course, but he did a great job. I can't wait to hear the rest of these. It looks like quite an impressive line up. Now the big question is will I be able to get a hold of this in the US? I hope! :)

Perfection
Well, Achtung Baby is pretty much perfection to my ears, but I cannot wait to hear this. Alot of great talent putting their efforts toward this album??? CD??? What do you call them these days. I remember albums. Now I just download everything onto my ipod!! New release I guess.
