In The Press Spencer Dukoff in the New York Daily News. 'While powers that be attempt to divide us and them, the simple truth is that we are all "one.” As the sun set on the Meadowlands and Trump's travel ban 2.0 went into effect Thursday night, Bono remained steadfast in his belief that America is a nation of immigrants. "This city, this country has given us Irish safety and sanctuary for hundreds of years," Bono said. "We would like to say thank you." It was U2's second night at MetLife Stadium in honor of the 30th anniversary of their seminal album "The Joshua Tree." Bono also invoked Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in a semi-prayer for this turbulent political era. "Dr. King, in a time of terror, keep us tolerant. In a time of fear, keep us faithful," Bono said. Although the show wasn't too heavy-handed in its political message, the band picked its spots to directly express its opinion on immigration and refugees. In one particularly poignant moment, a film featuring an interview with a teen Syrian girl played as the intro to "Miss Sarajevo," itself a tribute to civilians from the Bosnian War. In the film, the girl expresses, through subtitles, "I would love to go to America because it's a very beautiful country … It's the land of dreams." Donald Trump's name was conspicuously absent from the show even though Bono took time to thank President Bush and President Obama for their help in combatting the HIV/AIDS crisis in Africa. He also took time to express his appreciation for members of the media. "I would like to thank all of those that keep us vigilant, like journalists, in this country," Bono said.
If You Had To Pick One Song @Ballatc (via twitter) : 'They sang one tree hill and dedicated it to everyone who's dealing with loss and I'm emo as fuck'
What (else) did Bono Say? During Bad intro : “Thank you for coming out tonight… by land, by sea, by tunnel… That you would take the trouble to get all the way out here means a lot to us…thank you for sitting in the traffic, whatever you had to do on a hot summers night to come to see your favourite Irish band! Our prayer this evening, is that we have one of those EPIC nights… that we all remember to hold on to. And that we let go of the useless and offer ourselves be useful. Thats our prayer.”

Most EPIC Night EVER From My FAVORITE Ir
Bono, your prayer was answered. This was an epic night. I had tickets for this night first and was so excited I had to get tickets for Wednesday too. This was my first show in GA - and I made it to the second row just to the right of where Bono stands on the main stage. Totally worth the hour and a half drive and nearly 10 hour wait after. I wore my Bono sunglasses the whole time. I cried during "Bad" and the beginning of "Streets". And for the last five songs one guy switched places with me so I was on the rail, that was one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for me, I wish I'd gotten his name. This was the best night of my life. The band sounded great, I heard one of my favorite albums in full (for a second time), and I was just a few feet away from my favorite band. I am so thankful. Bono, The Edge, Adam, and Larry, thank you for giving me the five best nights of my life, and this one was #1. I can't wait until the next time you guys are in the NYC/NJ/Philly area.

Awesome night... Thank you, U2!
I became a U2 fan because of my brother Johnny. I was a Duranie and we would argue with him over who was better. Eventually U2 was My favorite band. My first job was when I was 12 and i worked at the Englishtown flea market in NJ. I would get paid $25 for the day and walk over to a building that I found out was selling U2 boot legs. $5 for a single cassette and $10 for a double. I could never wait to get home and listen to them. I'd hear songs like the springfield mining disaster and so many that would give me chills hearing Bono's emotions. My first U2 concert was the Joshua Tree in 1987 at Giants Stadium at 15 years old. It was impossible to get tickets. I would wait for contests on the radio and I got lucky and won 2 tickets on Z-100. I was too young for them to give me Birthday Bash tickets which was supposed to be part of the prize, but I didn't care bc I just wanted to see my favorite band. It was amazing to be able to relive that for both nights at Giants Stadium this year. First night with family and friends, second night by myself with a Red Zone ticket I was able to get with one presale code left between me and my brother Johnny. (My videos are on YouTube but some drunk guy kept bumping into me so they could've come out better, and this was my first time going to a concert by myself which ended up being ok because U2 fans are great and I met a few people.) Anyway, thank you to U2 for making me feel like I was 15 again for those 2 nights. I've seen them at least 25 times since I was 15 in New Jersey and the UK. If you're still reading this, thank you for listening to me relive some great memories. :)

U2 Met Life Stadium New Jersey
This was my fav U2 concert out of all I'll been to. "Epic" yes indeed! I never felt as close to the band tonight even though their were 80,000 fans surrounding me. Thank you so much for your prayers, music and as always nudging us from our complacency. Red tree Hill touched me so. Bad was moving and went through my body touching every nerve of my soul. Wishing ye safe travels the rest of your tour. "Slan go fill"

Amazing
I missed them in Syracuse in 1987 when I was in college so I went to both Met Life shows to make up for it. I had GA seats and the second night was better than the first because the energy in the crowd around us was so much better.

30 years later and the songs are timeles
Both shows were amazing but the second night was even better. Incredible how 30 years have passed but the songs are just as relevant today and these guys inspire me in ways I can't explain... but Im sure many U2 fans would agree... attending a U2 show is like a religious experience and better than any medicine. Thanks!

Show number 20 of TheJoshuaTreeTour2017
Last night was special because it was my 20th U2 concert over 32 years. They were amazing, as expected, and they made me think, as always. But they also made me reflect on what they mean to me. Their music shaped the way I view the world, politics, social justice and even God. It's gotten me through some dark days when I thought I'd never smile again and made the good times even better. So as I reflect I'm grateful to U2 for taking me to the church of rock and roll and lifting my soul. See you in September In Missouri on my birthday for #21!
