Download 'Ǎhk-to͝ong Bāy-Bi Covered'

Ǎhk-to͝ong Bāy-Bi Covered featuring Nine Inch Nails, Patti Smith, Depeche Mode, Jack White, The Killers and others is available for download from today in the iTunes Store.

All proceeds will benefit Concern Worldwide's work in famine-stricken areas of East Africa. (The album will be available on iTunes in the UK on November 28th.)

With the support of iTunes, the Independent Online Distribution Alliance (IODA) and all the participating artists, managers and labels, all proceeds from the sale of Ǎhk-to͝ong Bāy-Bi Covered will support Concern’s response to the East Africa crisis, where thousands of children have already died of hunger or related diseases and over 10 million people remain at risk.

'This crisis in East Africa is still very much an emergency and Concern is delighted that all of the parties involved are making this hugely significant contribution to our work in the region,' said Concern CEO, Tom Arnold. 'We are honored they have chosen Concern as the exclusive beneficiaries.

'It is disappointing that such a major ongoing humanitarian situation has largely disappeared from the media headlines. Offering the proceeds from Ǎhk-to͝ong Bāy-Bi Covered to Concern’s East Africa appeal also provides a timely reminder that alleviation of the hunger and wider health crisis in the region must not be forgotten and should remain a global priority.'

Ǎhk-to͝ong Bāy-Bi Covered was conceived for Q Magazine to mark their 25th Anniversary issue, coinciding with the 20th Anniversary re-release of Achtung Baby. The CD is available with Q Magazine’s December 2011 issue.

Not that great

I had HIGH expectations, as Achtung Baby is my favorite U2 album and the lineup on AHK-toong BAY-bi is quite remarkable... but the songs are just so bland. There are a few songs that are just OK but the rest fail miserably.

Wow, I LOVE this CD!!

I just received my Q magazine plus cd in the mail. I live in Canada, so THANK YOU U2.com for making this available in the U2 shop!! I have been hooked on all the extra CDs in the uberdeluxe box set, and this is just as awesome!! What a treat. Zoo Station is sooooo cool! And of course the EBTTRT remix rules (that is such an amazing song with so many amazing remixes). I truly love all of it. Of course the original is the BEST but Kindergarten and now this tribute cd are seriously awesome. Ahhhhh, I love not having to do without 'new' U2 yet.....looking forward to the live discs from U2.com. Oh I love U2 so much!!!!

Whata a great singer

David Gahans voice was for me justa an other singer, but I hchanged my mind, when I was listning to DM version of So cruel, -man he got a great voice! - still the original is still better...

Depeche Mode-fantastic cover

So Cruel-what an outstanding vocal on this superb cover. Dave Gahan's voice is quite simply spine chilling. In fact it's even better than the real thing!!!. Stunning.

great idea but why the delay..?

'available for download today in the iTunes store' followed by 'available on iTunes in the UK on November 28th' just begs the question as to why the delay for UK users of iTunes.. and if there did have to be a delay (assuming it's because there are contractual reasons) why not just put the whole thing back for a single release date..? in the UK we do seem limited to just 6-8 shows per tour (if we're lucky) and then you get delays like this. perhaps needs more thought..
