U2 first played New York City in 1980... and they keep coming back.

The new video for "You’re The Best Thing About Me," directed by Jonas Åkerlund, sees band members reveling in the sights and sounds of New York City where, as a young Dublin four-piece, they played their first U.S. club gig in December 1980, beginning a love affair with the city which has endured for almost 40 years.

Shot earlier this month while the band were on tour and featuring U2 in performance, the video is a fitting backdrop for "You're The Best Thing About Me" – Bono's love letter to his wife Ali – and serves as a visual tribute to New York, a serenade to the city's iconic symbols of American compassion and liberty.

Yet another that falls flat

"the best thing" is the 35-40 or so seconds when the Edge takes over, including his vocal melody. Bono sounds like a bad imitation of John Legend. I swear POP neutered their ambition - nothing daring since then. I long for them to be daring again. Still love the pre-1998 stuff (including 1/2 of POP) but they've stagnated musically and in their politics since then..

The Golden door. .. ... ....

I?am I, your the best thing about me is the new single for that new born album, I will by it as a LP-vinyl. The vinyl sounds so mutch better than the cd. So U2, come on with that next album and is there also a free download card include by the LP? The Waterboys did that also with there new LP. So, tonight I saw an half moon, whitout the hole.. .. .
