'Adding more?'

25 Mar 2010659
Speaking to Dave Fanning of Irelands's 2FM a few weeks back, Edge said the band had begun thinking about this year's shows. Dave mentioned that in 2009 there was always five or six songs from No Line on the Horizon: 'Would you keep that many?

'We were talking about adding more,' said Edge, in a decidedly enigmatic tone. 'Changing out some of the songs...'

And that was it, the subject was closed, he was giving nothing else away. But we can dream can't we ? So here's the thing: if you could add in a song from 'No Line' which wasn't a regular in the set last year ... what would it be?

And while you're musing on that one, what song from any earlier album, which didn't feature in 2009, would you love to hear in the mix this time around ?

Answers in the box below please. One different track from No Line, one other track from any earlier album. (And why, if you have the time...)

(If your memory needs refreshing on the songs the band were performing last year, check the 2009 dates and click on any city to see the set list.)

One from each + whole NLOTH
How about one song from each of the earlier albums plus No Line On The Horizon in its entirety? Or, even better, some new, previously unreleased, songs!

Setlist
Adding "Stand Up Comedy" and "Bad". I wanted "Bad" in the Vertigo Tour, it wasn't there in Paris... In the 360, Pasadena, it was not there... We need it!!! It is a so beautiful song.

From No Line, I'd have to go with "White As Snow". From another album, I'd have to go with "Gone" from Pop.

Stand Up Com-New Years Day
Please add these 2 songs. I think Stand up comedy is the next best song and I think it would be a fun concert song. I would also like to hear New Years Day. I've been to 3 shows and have yet to hear it. For me this song took U2 to another level and I thought it put them on the map as far as people, who like myself at the time, didn't know much about the band.

This is easy!
Stand Up Comedy (tshirts have the title - when do we hear the song live?) And 'A Sort Of Homecoming" - it would be a fine introduction to "City Of Blinding Lights", perhaps more so than even "The Unforgettable Fire".... Note to Bono: put in a lyric from "The Sun Always Shines On TV" into "Beautiful Day" this time around. A-ha about to hang it up this year.....

You've got this great outdoor disco...
Without fail, the crowd erupted each night as "Crazy Tonight" oozed out of the columns of speakers, poured out onto the sea of writhing fans. You've got this futuristic outdoor disco, use it! Funky, heavier base; "chk! chk! chk!-ier" guitar scratching and Wah pedal, and 120 BPM sound... Crashed Car A Man And A Woman Discotheque Lemon Out of Control You get the idea...

Put in Stand Up Comedy and God Part 2 "Classic"

Add two songs, stir.
From NLOTH: Add "Winter" (DVD Bonus version), full band electric, segue into "Where The Streets Have No Name." The dichotomy between the the feeling of emptiness or personal loss of "Winter" and the hopefullness, release, and redemption of "Streets" would be an emotionally powerful end to the first set. From Other LP: Add "Drowning Man" following "With Or Without You" and as the lead in to "Moment of Surrender," because the song (as I image was envisioned during 2009 tour rehearsals) pulls together the emotional context of surrendering yourself (i.e., your soul) to a higher purpose. Cheers.

White As Snow
White as snow would be a great choose and either (or both!) Bad or Stay (faraway so close), from past albums

When Edge sounded like Page
Stand Up Comedy, since Edge sounds like his new fellow, Jimmy Page. An early one? "Who's gonna Ride Your wild Horses". Why? One of the best u2 songs, and has all to do with the new album mood.

Go Crazy!
'Magnificent' would be a fantastic opener, if they cut the lights and just let Edge shred the opening note a few times, building up the energy. And next to 'Ultraviolet' (my favorite song ever), 'Go Crazy' was arguably the highlight of the show in Tampa. The energy of that song set the place off....I literally had to catch my breath before they went into 'Sunday'. And I agree with some of the comments, I would love to see some POP songs! Tampa 360=best set list of my life.

New Songs
'Stand up Comedy' gotta be there. Energetic & powerful: clearly a natural son of 'Bullet The Blue Sky' & 'Love And Peace Or Else'. About early stuff, I guess they're done with some of them. It makes no sense anymore to play a lot of them. Instead, they should play more songs from NLOTH, HTDAAB, ATYCLB & POP.

This Or That
I'd love for the boys to play "Winter" (any version is fine). If this isn't considered a track from No Line, then I would definitely go with "Stand Up Comedy". As for my pick from a previous album I would die if they played "Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me" but I'm thinking this won't happen, so I'll pick "Even Better Than The Real Thing".

And I must be an acrobat...
I would really love to hear Acrobat live for the first time. I think it's probably one of the greatest songs they've ever written. will it remain just a dream? Please guys...
