U2360° TOUR

Apr 13 2011
Sao Paulo, BR / Estadio Morumbi

'Usually we sing to you but here you sing to us.' Tonight's final show in Brazil went out live across South America and worldwide on U2.com.

'Tonight is our last night in South America and we wanted to remember this,' said Bono after Until The End of the World. 'So we're going out live on radio and online across the whole of your mesmerising continent as an excuse so we can have the record of this show. This show will last for ever.'

And for another capacity crowd at this third and final night at the Morumbi Stadium in Sao Paulo, as well as those listening online and on the radio in Venezuela, Peru Colombia, Ecuador, Chile, Argentina, Brazil - and all those tuning in worldwide on U2.com - this was surely a night we won't forget.

'Lift Up and Lift Off' said Chip in Philadelphia, on our live text feed, as we heard the opening chords of Even Better Than The Real Thing. 'Think I'm gonna blow my speakers,' added Badsilver. 'Never seen them live,' said Oscar in Iceland, 'Love when they do something like this'.

Extraordinary but little known fact of the night: the song playing before Space Oddity, ahead of the band's arrival on stage, was Telstar by The Tornados, whose rhythm guitarist was one George Bellamy, father of Matt of Muse, whose band played another fine set earlier in the evening.

There was more musical pedigree in the house tonight too: Steve Lillywhite had flown down from New York and when I Will Follow took over from 'Real Thing' Steve, the original producer of this track, was amazed to hear it 'sounding as good as it did 30 years ago'. And this audience is loud, as he told his followers on Twitter: 'People from Sao Paulo know how to make a noise at a U2 concert !'

Thousands and thousands of you from all over the world were adding to our live text feed, while listening live online, and everyone agreed that these Brazilian fans know how to enjoy a show.

'Don't think I'll need coffee to stay awake for this! said Eamonn Doyle in Ireland. Hoachy, in Falkirk, Scotland said that the sound is so good, 'My whole street are listening to this.'

Mysterious Ways was up next and BAM in NY captured the universal good vibes: 'What better joy is there than to rock to U2 live, or stream it, AND Tweet, FB, text, etc with all U2 Fans in the WORLD.'

Larry had a Brazilian flag across the drum kit as the band were introduced:'Ring those bells Edge, ring those bells.'

'I hope you like our current mode of transportation,' continued Bono, before Still Haven't Found. 'The space station has been to all kinds of interesting places and we mean it when we say that we are coming all the way over here to here to see you.
'Usually we sing to our audience but here our audience sings to us.
'Usually we put on a show for our audience but here you put on a show for us.'

No need to actually sing the song as the whole place was singing it for him. 'Let's go to church now...' After Pride, a special guest: ''We are great fans of a truly great artist here in Brazil,' explained Bono, 'His name is Seu Jorge.' Loud reception as Seu takes the stage to join Bono for a beautiful acoustic duet of 'The Model'. Another guest followed, a young woman to read a Brazilian translation of Beautiful Day which the band then follow with their own translation, seamlessly giving way to Miss Sarajevo - or 'Miss Sao Paulo' as Huubster in Curacao puts it.

And a great night is only going to get better.

'Zooropa... Vorsprung durch Technik
Zooropa... be all that you can be
Be a winner
Eat to get slimmer....'

For only the fifth live performance ever Zooropa returns to the set and it's perfectly placed before the Space Station takes off again. 'Bring on the Lemon' as a commenter in New York suggests.

'The best moment of the show!' says Jenny in Australia, welcoming City of Blinding Lights. 'A spectacle for the eyes and very good for the soul!' adds Joao Paulo in Brazil. And in a tour which keeps throwing up surprises in the set list, there was one more to come: All I Want Is You, bleeding into Streets, which was, frankly, something else!

'This is INCREDIBLE!' said FranciscoBrady. 'I´ve been to the 3 concerts in Argentina and i felt in heaven ! But tonight I feel like the whole world is connected trough U2 live from South America ! Thanks to U2 and hi to the rest of the world.. we are there.. right now.. yes, there, where the streets have no name! peace!'

A final word from Danny in Ireland: 'Thank you Brazil...you have given us the best soccer and now the best U2 fans..'

Were you at tonight's final show in South America ? Tell us what it was like in the stadium. What was the moment you will never surrender ? Add your own review and upload your photos below.

the best concert of my life...
marisa_mendes
thank you
I am still enchanted with all I saw and did not wake up from that dream which was the concert in SP (Wed-13th) I cant really pick one best track, because each song impacted me in a different way bringing such diverse feelings. Not sure who reads these commends, but in case the band members do, I just wanted to say thank you for the concern in having all understanding what you were proposed to do (subtitles). And although all the technology is amazing, I still get the emotions from the powerful lyrics and the amazing music you guys make. I hope to see you soon again, here, preferably (Brasil) or at any corner of the world. Oh, by the way, when tryingo to download my photos at home, I lost them... :( but it is ok, because I was there and all those moments are engraved in my mind and heart forever. Thank you!

NEVER AS GOOD AS THE FIRST TIME
My son was born in 1999 and came from a family of U2 fans. April 13, his first show - and I think the best - with family, friends and U2. I'm sure he will remember this moments forever. Can't imagine a better way to tell him music can make us "be as one" and believe that we have to "care each other".

U2 in Brazil
Well, first of all I wanto to introduce myself. A doctorate student at the Federal University of Uberlandia, MG. It is about 700 Km far from Sao Paulo. I went there on the second night of the Tour and it was great! I can not tell you about the best track or the most memorable moment because it was all and everything. I love all the songs despite the fact Mysterious ways is a must for me. I love everything U2 has done all these years. And Bono lights my days, my nights, my way...It was a pit I was a little bit far from the stage but I felt the energy around us, taking us up to somewhere...where the streets have no name...Somewhere close to heaven. I say close because I did not meet Bono in person, ok? But when the show ended nobody, I say nobody wanted to go home. We wanted more of the magical place built by the band. Cristina

Beautiful Day...
I just wanna say thanks U2 for giving me an experience that I'll never forget! I was there on the last night and I still haven't found any words to explain that... For me it wasn't a simple concert. Actually, it wasn't simple at all! And it wasn't only a concert, it was more than that, it was something that the world hasn't seen before! Everything was perfect! The sound, the stage, the crowd... Muse is an amazing band and a great choice to open the show. Thank you The Edge, Larry, Adam and Bono for giving me the most beautiful day in my life! And I hope to see you guys again soon!! =D

The Unforgetable Fire
My first memory is U2's 1984 date with Pride in the remote Radio Jovem Pan 2. Was a fan of Simple Minds at the time and after being introduced to music Bad, I have never stopped listening to U2, U2 think, finally, to idolize U2. I was honored to watch the show on 13/04 and I took my daughter and wife. Now they understand that idolatry. I have all the albums on LP, CD, MP3. I was at the concert in 1998, the Pop Mart, but the 360 was beyond belief .. The unforgettable fire still shines! Congratulations! Osmar
Unforgettable
I was there, at the last Concert in São Paulo. U2 I love you. I loved the energy from Elevation, loved what you did with the space ship in City of Blinding Lights. I also loved Walk On, and of course I was touched by With or Without you.

The last one was so special, emotional.... it was the goodbye....I just couldn't stop crying at With or Without You and Moment of Surrender... On this show, I was blessed... I was given the set list!!!! Thank you so much who picked me!! ;) You've just made me feel the luckiest and happiest person!!!

I surrender. Again.
They can still do it like no one else can, music for heart and soul and body and brains. Edge´s guitar filling the whole universe, Larry´s drums thundering in my chest, Adam´s lines in the back of my ears, and, above all, Bono´s sexy voice and strong words warming my heart. Thank you.

Moment Of Surrender
It was a moment of achievement for a couple who follows the band from teenagers ... My wife and I get into the stadium and nearly collapsed with excitement when we saw the stage. The triumphal entry with Bowie was just another detail to bring the perfection of the greatest shows that have already participated. We love the band and hopefully feel the happiness that is broadcast, and lived by people who helped with the RED ZONE. Love U2! Luiz and Ana Paula

Brazilians show how to do it.
One day after one of the greatest concerts ever, I`m still trying to get on my feet. A 360º stage in a 360º stadium, Morumbi had 89thousand singers following the lead of U2. On April 13th, the stadium started to shake, Brazil, for sure, made this concert "last for ever" as Bono said. We for sure showed the world how to do..The energy was amazing, priceless. This concert will, for sure, be in my mind forever. Thanks U2 for this wonderful experience, this was for sure the greatest concert ever. I'm already waiting the day U2 will come back to Brazil.
Awesome
I was at Morumbi yesterday! Amazing concert! "Even better than the real thing" in a great dancing version! "I will follow" reminded me Red Rocks video! Edge kicking ass as usual! "Moment of surrender" the most emotional part for me! Great to know that a Sao Paulo concert was broadcasted live on the radio and internet! My hometown thanks U2 for that! We love U2!

See you soon U2!
What a great way to end the S. American leg...Once again, U2 gave their best to us! Even Better Than The Real Thing is the best opener of the tour. It really makes you jump and getting ready for the hole thing. From the first song till the end, it's hard to discribe how perfect is an 360 show. It's also hard to discribe my feelings during Zooropa. The questions segment, the screen and the band inside of it, the music and its perfection. The best moment of the night and one of the best moments of the tour for sure! Also got surprised with All I Want Is You. It was a great gift in the last night, and it was also the best way to start the best song ever, Where The Streets Have No Name. Thank you for giving us such great energy and vibrations! (I swear I feel God everytime U2 plays I Still Haven't Found live...) Thank you for giving us the best and even more than it! Thank Thank you for everything U2! I had the best 3 nights of my life in São Paulo and I've never felt so alive before!

A night that will last forever in my mem
During our lives there are some moments that can last forever in our memories. It was Wednesday, April 13, a warm spring day in Brazil that I realized that from that day on my life wouldn't be the same. Unforgettable seconds and minutes from the queue outside the stadium until this beautiful day was closed with Moment of Surrender. Just miss them so much and I can't wait to see them playing again in Brazil. A U2 concert is not just a show, is one of the most significant events of our time. Long live Bono, Edge, Adam and Larry. Great job guys!
