'A time to love our neighbour…'
Some highlights from Houston, night six of #U2TheJoshuaTree2017

When & Where,
Wednesday, May 24th 2017. NRG Stadium, Houston, Texas. Night six of #U2TheJoshuaTree2017

Set List
Opening with New Year's Day, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Pride (In The Name of Love)…but no A Sort Of Homecoming tonight. Here's the set list from Houston

Social Post
From @claytonskitten: 'Lately, when I hear One, I think of From The Sky Down, and how Mysterious Ways gave birth to this song. #perspective #U2TheJoshuaTree2017'

In The Press
'From the Houston Chronicle:   'The presentation of "The Joshua Tree" began with the entire backing screen filled with brilliant blood-red imagery from the album's artwork and accompanying Anton Corbijn photoshoot, dissolving into the point of view of a driver's making the long distance trek to the titular desert park. The Edge's godhead guitar intro to album opener "Where the Streets Have No Name" brought an audible gasp from the thousands assembled.
There's few things in rock as stunning as The Edge's dive bombing guitar parts from "Bullet The Blue Sky" inside a massive stadium.
That's because the album was built to be played in stadiums and arenas, thanks to the twin touches of producers Daniel Lanois and Brian Eno. There are no minimal emotions across its eleven moody tracks, with themes of love, longing, injustice, paranoia, and the American dream (as seen through the eyes of four earnest Irishmen) making the album a career-definer.'

If You Had To Pick One Song
Miss Syria (Sarajevo) 'Is there a time to love our neighbor / Whether enemy or friend..'
From @atU2: '14-Miss Sarajevo. And the Syrian refugee camp video. Such beautiful imagery, but hard to watch. #U2TheJoshuaTree2017'

What did Bono Say ?
Dedicating One Tree Hill to the people of Manchester: 'All our hearts are with Manchester…so many of our friends in this great city... We are brokenhearted for parents who have lost their children, children who have lost their parents, families torn apart by this senseless horror.
There is no end to grief, that's how we know there is no end to love...
We'll see you again when the stars fall from the sky…'

Finally get to see the show I couldn't m
Absolutely incredible to see the boys play the entire JT album in one night! The screen and stage set-up was my favorite since Zoo TV and this was even better. I wish I could make another show on this tour!
    Amazing show
I traveled from St. Louis, took my 13 and 23 year olds (their first U2 show) and was blown away. I have traveled for them before, and will again. The screen and the images were mesmerizing. Great addition to the amazing music. For me it was a spiritual experience. For my kids, lots of videos of mom acting weird. LOL.
Larry kicks the show off with that beat!
So happy to be here in the Red Zone! Still as excited as the first time I saw them. Sorry, but I couldn't hold in my cheering!
    Loved The Show But ....
Took my wife to her first ever U2 concert in the Red Zone and was sadly disappointed. Not by the band, they were great, but by all the people holding up cell phones and recording large portions of the show! Can you please do something about it? It's ruining the energy in the crowd and I suspect its making it hard for Bono and the boys to do their thing too. Even worse, moderators for this site are advocating the practice.
    Soul Moving Moments
Twenty years ago my best friend bought tix to see U2, Popmart. The same day he committed suicide. Months later, I went to the concert, in tears, with my brother. In Houston, I went to the Joshua Tree Tour with my "new" best friend, my lovely wife of 17 years. Thanks U2 for poetic lyrics that move the soul, incomparable music, and some incredible memories.
    An amazing show!
Wow! After we survived the storm hail near Houston, we got to see the show. It's truly incredible. TJT tour has to be lived to be believed! I have found new love for old songs. Exit has become one of my favorites. We hope to see the show somewhere else.
    Women of U2

    Bucket list ✅
Seeing and living the U2 experience with my daughter was awesome....good times and great memories❗️❤️
The boys did not disappoint! Solid from beginning to end, with some of my personal highlights being WTSHNN, BTBS, and my favorite, Running to Stand Still. When Bono broke out that harmonica... ah, man. Gold.
    Worth the wait
I waited 32 years for last night. I first saw U2 on Live Aid and would later steal my older brother’s vinyl copy of The Unforgettable Fire. (Please don’t tell him I still have it.) In light of the recent atrocity in Manchester, I wondered whether the mood of the Houston show would be somber, whether our greater fears would take over the room. Thankfully, it was quite the opposite. Everyone in the room did indeed share one heart, one love, for that one evening. The show was personally redemptive too. I spent some of my childhood in Houston, and the fondest memories I have of that time are of riding around on a motorcycle listening to my cassette of The Joshua Tree on my Walkman. It was a time when I begin to realize that there was more to music and my life than what I had been handed to me and that other possibilities existed aside from the obvious. The soundtrack to those realizations was supplied by U2. It felt good and right to reconnect with that last night. I feel like I owe you a great deal, but all I can do is say thank you. If y’all are ever back down in my neck of the woods, just give me holler, and I’ll whip you up some home-cooked grub. It’s the least I can do. Peace, brothers.
    U2 Houston show
Everything felt new. Visually and sonically stunning. There were a lot of surprises. They played my favorites. Too many highlights. I wish I could go again.
    Unbelievable as always
Y'all were once again amazing!!! Great show!!! Words cannot express what an amazing show Bono, Adam, Larry and Edge put on each and every time I see them!!! Great time in H-town at NRG last night!!!
    miss sarajevo
i have been loving the shows since the start from good streams, one song i have wanted to hear as its one of my favs is miss sarajevo, but i am kinda disappointed that bono doesnt sing the whole thing,i saw bono sing it the last time they were in pittsburgh and had chills down my spine,i know years ago bono and pavarotti sang it together but in these live shows to me throws the song off having voice over and not bonos own voice,i do hope he changes that because i am taking 2 of my sons and thier gfs when they play in pitt june 7th,i doubt they can change it at this point of the tour but i hope they will think about it,my youngest son is hoping oridinary love would be played because that was the song that made him start to listening to U2 but i told him its doubtful but please think about miss sarajevo tho please
    Like nothing else...
Again, U2 amazes in concert. The energy, the message, the atmosphere, nothing compares in experience. I was able to take the wife and share with her the power that you feel when "Where the Streets Have No Name," builds and kicks off. "I want to feel sunlight on my face.."
    LOVE the Joshua Tree
My first U2 concert was 30 years ago at the Meadowlands Arena during the first US leg of the Joshua Tree tour. The floor of the second level of the Arena undulated from everyone jumping up and down to the rhythm. We stood and sang the entire show. Last night's concert brought back all of that, except for feeling the floor undulate. We were one in NRG Stadium and it was magic. Thank you U2 for being the soundtrack of my life. #epic #worthit #U2TheJoshuaTree2017 #JT30 #U2 #HTX #Houston #Htown #Texas #blessed
Fantastic show by U2, they never fail to out preform their last show. It's great to see fans all ages getting into U2. Like Bono said see you in 2047 for Joshua'so next anniversary!
    John Hardin
    Phenomenal in every way.
To take an album I've hear 1000 times (at least) and make it feel fresh and invigorating is no small feat. They did that and more.
    Joshua Tree in Houston
A powerful, redemptive, re-energizing and galvanizing night. A reminder that "there is no them, there is only us." The message of inclusiveness, community, and love was the thread throughout the evening. So glad to be a part of it.
No Women in Science during tribute
Out of all the women represented you left out women in science! The smart girls need love, too! Ideas include Lise Meitner-split the atom for the first time (her Nobel prize was stolen from her by Otto Han); Rosalind Franklin-determined that DNA is a double helix through x-ray diffraction (her work was stolen by Watson & Crick); Marie Lavoisier worked alongside her husband who unified the field of chemistry; Marie Curie did groundbreaking research on radium and discovered many new elements & first woman to receive a Nobel prize; Sally Ride-first American woman in space. There are so many women who paved the way for girls to enter STEAM fields and now my girls outpace many of my boys in the classroom now. Please include some of these amazing minds with the politicians, writers and entertainers. They have given humanity so many beneficial discoveries that have improved lives throughout her-story! BTW: great show. I had a blast!!
My love for this band runs deep and all the way back to 1982. I have seen them several times, but not since 1992. It was a great show!! Seriously, this concert goes into my top 5! :) We stood the whole time and sang along with every song! Well done gents! #epic #worthit #U2TheJoshuaTree2017 #JT30 #U2 #HTX #Houston #Htown #Texas #y'all
I want to run...I want to hide
    U2 Joshua Tree 2017 Houston
@U2 Thank you for your anniversary present to me with this concert! Amazing show!!! #U2TheJoshuaTreeTour2017 #Houston #blessed
    Unforgettable memories made
We brought our son who is on the autism spectrum to his first concert tonight. Beautiful Day is his favorite U2 song. He sang every word. ❤️
    What a Night!
30 years later still just as Good.
Please, reinsert "A sort of homecoming"!!!
    Loved It
This is my first of 4 shows. This one has the most meaning since I was just at the location of the Joshua Tree.
So excited to see U2 tonight. I was there for the Joshua Tree tour 30 years ago!
Music heals the soul. Bring it U2. love, JessLee
