U2360° TOUR

Jun 24 2011
Worthy Farm, Pilton, GB / Glastonbury Festival

On June 24th 2011 the band played one of their most memorable sets, headlining the opening night of the Glastonbury Festival in the UK.

Playing 19 songs featuring tracks from eight albums over thirty years, this was the first show away from the U2360 stage in two years and despite the constant drizzle of rain, fans and critics have called it a triumph.

What a performance, what is it with U2 and the rain?

This was up there with Live Aid, Live 8 and Red-Rocks - live-they are bloody brilliant!

They managed to touch the hearts of all their fans watching. Possibly the highlight performance of their career.

They are among the first reactions from fans who saw the show on TV or online - but if you were at Glastonbury, we want to hear from you - add your own review below.

Meantime, the first reviews from the critics are now arriving and the consensus is equally positive. (We'll be adding more as they arrive)

Out of Control, said The Guardian , was 'a reminder of when they were unknowns with everything to prove. Thirty years later, on unfamiliar ground, they reach for that fierce hunger and it's that sense of urgency 'even a hint of nerves' rather than triumphalism that makes this such a charged and memorable set.'

'U2 go down a real storm at Glastonbury', reported The Sun . ' A truly memorable show, despite the pouring rain.'

London's Metro said 'U2 will never fail with a greatest hits set and this career spanning legacy was equalled in measure by an unparalleled stage that dwarfed anything previously seen at Glastonbury - featuring additional main screens and backdrop and even paying reference to the ZooTV show.'

'U2's debut performance at Worthy Farm turned into a triumph,' said The Belfast Telegraph . 'As the Bono & Co abandoned their 360 tour setlist to perform a 'greatest hits' package, which when you're U2 is some songbook to draw on.

The News of the World said that 'as it was their first Glasto, some critics questioned whether the band would get their choice of songs right. But their mix of classics - Beautiful Day and One - with tracks from latest album No Line On The Horizon were all met by cheers.'

U2 at Glastonbury 2011 Friday 24th June.
Gratitude, organisation, energy, success, the set has it all. The band raised the roof to produce a showcase headline at Glastonbury. It was beautiful a well played performance of seventeen great U2 tunes under a rain soaked sky with two encores. I enjoyed every moment of it and every song, especially, Get On Your Boots.
